There is no mention of the Kashmir issue in the Tashkent Declaration of Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers’ meet that was held on Oct 18-19, 2016 even as OIC Declaration touches upon situations in North Africa, West Asia and Afghanistan. No mention of the Kashmir issue in the Tashkent Declaration of Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation is being considered as a jolt for Modi Government.
OIC Declaration mentions– “We reiterate our full support for Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Shareef, the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including the right to self-determination and return to their ancestral places of residence.”
Though the OIC came down heavily on terrorism but there is no mention of the Kashmir issue in the Tashkent Declaration of Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation. Across the globe, every prominent leader knows about the Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in the valley and across borders of other countries. As compared to the last four OIC declaration where Jammu & Kashmir had found mention, it signals a shift in stance.
